About the Institute

Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), established in 1979, is a well-regarded private engineering college located in Hyderabad, Telangana. It holds the distinction of being one of the oldest private engineering colleges in India and has earned a strong reputation for academic excellence and a student-centric environment. Various programs of the college were accredited five times by NBA (AICTE) and the institute is also accredited (A++) by NAAC - UGC. The grants received from AICTE/UGC/DST are worth about Rs. 10 crores. The college offers Nine UG and Eleven PG courses. The institute has signed MOUs with various esteemed organizations, has dedicated Training & Placement Centre with strong placement record. It has a vibrant student community with numerous clubs and professional chapters, also hosts major events like TEDxCBIT and Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, which are entirely organized by the students.

About Mechanical Engineering Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at CBIT, Hyderabad, is one of the institute's foundational departments, established in 1979. It has a strong focus on both traditional and modern aspects of design, manufacturing, and thermal sciences. Aims to produce globally competitive engineers. It offers both UG and PG. The flagship program is the B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, with intake of 120 students and M.E CAD/CAM, with an intake of 18 students. The department emphasizes technological innovation, providing students with access to 18 well-equipped labs spanning 3,300 square meters, including a state-of-the-art 3D Innovation Hexagon Lab. It has 35 eminent faculty, fetched 26 sponsored projects worth of Rs. 279 lakhs from various industries. Has eminent student clubs- SAE, ASME, ASTRA, ROBOTICS under which various activities has been conducted, participated & won in various national and international prizes in events: FSAE-UK & Italy, SUPRA, ISRO.
